Daddy/Daughter Valentine Dance

Tonight Darnel and Delaney went to a Daddy/Daughter Valentine dance. Delaney couldn't wait to go. She kept telling me she wanted to wear something pink. When Darnel got home from work he was wearing a blue shirt. Delaney said, "Is that what you're wearing? It is a Valentine dance you need to wear something red." Notice in the pics that he did change his shirt. At the dance they made a craft, took pictures, ate snacks and of course danced. When I asked Laney how it went she said it was soooo much fun. Two of her friends were there, they had a punch fountain and Daddy requested the DJ play the Electric Slide. I asked what they had for snack and Laney said, "We didn't have snacks, they just had popcorn and that mix stuff." I guess popcorn and Chex Mix don't pass for snacks for Delaney.

SNOW DAY!!!

We were very lucky to have two snow days this week. The kids had a blast playing in the snow and playing Wii when it got too cold outside. When three kids are stuck at home for two days they get pretty creative with their entertainment. At one point when they were outside I looked through the kitchen window to find Trey and Laney in the fort of the swing set with the double inflatable sled getting in position to slide down the slide on the sled. I definitely had to stop it, it didn't look like it would end well.

All Aboard!!!

Sunday was the day for Darnel and Trey to enjoy a Christmas present from Aunt Kara and Uncle Steve. Trey received train tickets for both of them to take the Amtrak train to Union Station. They had a blast! Trey couldn't wait for the train to arrive. The girls and I dropped them off at the train station at 12:15. They took the 12:30 train to Union Station where they listened to the Fudge Shop guys sing some songs and enjoy some samples. After roaming Union Station for a short time they headed to the Metrolink to head back home. It was exhausting for Trey, so he fell asleep on the Metro. They had a great day doing what Trey loves best... Trains!

Thanks Aunt Kara and Uncle Steve!

Discussion About Smoking

Today on the way home Trey and Delaney were discussing smoking. Delaney usually starts the conversation which stems from a discussion they had at school.

Delaney: Mom we talked about smoking today. H. says that R.'s mom smokes. Does she?
Me: Yes she does.
Delaney: It's not good to smoke smokers(cigerettes)
Trey: I didn't smoke when I was a baby.
Delaney: There is something in them that makes you want to keep smoking.
Me: It's called nicotine. You get adicted to it.
Delaney: Smoking is bad.

Reason for Lack of Posts

Sorry for the lack of posts. I am starting my new Arbonne Business and have been a little consumed with trying to get the word out. If you like Arbonne keep me in mind when you need new products. If you have never heard of it check out the website. Their products are amazing and have changed my life or at least my skin. If you want to host an Arbonne party give me a call or e-mail me. I'd love to share their products with you.

Releasing Energy

Birthday parties at Bounce U are at the top of our list. I haven't checked the prices, but you get a private bounce room and a private party room. The kids entered the bounce room and didn't leave until we went to eat pizza and cake. The party host was also wonderful. Young girls with a lot of energy and they both really liked kids. Trey and Laney had a blast and were exhausted when we left.

Practice what you preach!

At the Sam's we frequently visit the nice men and women checking receipts at the door always draw smiley faces on the back of the receipts for the kids. Today when leaving Sam's Trey said to the lady, " I want a smiley face" I said, "Oh Trey how do we ask?" Trey then said, "Smiley face please". The lady smiled and drew a smiley face on the receipt. Trey said Thank you and we headed to the car. As I was unloading the basket I said, "Trey get in your seat so I can buckle you". He looked at me and said, "Oh, how do we ask?" I guess I learned my lesson... Practice what you preach!

Is this normal?

Trey LOVES Santa. I really think he is obsessed with him. Everything in the house turns into the sled and Santa's reindeer. During the month of December Delaney and I were asked to be his elves. Today, (yes I know it is Jan 8th) he assembled his toys in a line to represent the reindeer. His red pillow is Santa's sled and the dog leash is Santa's whip(I'm sure Santa has a better word for it) for the reindeer. I'm starting to wonder if we will have Santa, his sled and the reindeer in our house throughout the year.

Laney and Trey

Today we were driving home with one of Laney's friends. The following is the conversation in the car.

Trey: Is Anna coming to our house?
Darnel: Yes
Trey: Oh good, I love having friends over.
Laney: Trey I hate to tell you this, but you're not playing with us.
Trey: Your friends like me, Anna, don't you like me!
Anna: Yes
Trey: See, your friends do like me.

New Year's Eve 2009

Tonight we rang in the New Year with good food and good friends. We celebrated the New Year with a party at a friends house, where we ate great food, enjoyed good company and watched the kids play games, laugh and ring in the 2009 with noise makers. Thanks Mark and Sharon for the great party!
