What are sisters for?

On Easter Sunday Trey was having a great time playing in Grandma Henry's basement with all the other boy cousins. He loves any chance he can get to run with the boys. After being down stairs for a period of time he came upstairs cupped his hands around his mouth and whispered in Delaney's ear.
"Those boys are being mean to me. Will you come take care of them?"

Delaney's response was No!

I thought it was so sweet that he would come to his big sister to ask for help.

Easter Sunday!

What a wonderful day despite the weather! We started the day off remembering why we celebrate Easter by attending Easter service. We then headed to Mama's and Papa's for brunch and to get the second set of Easter baskets. After spending a couple hours with the Rau's we headed to Nana's for lunch and the 3rd set of Easter baskets. At 3:00 it was time to head to the 3rd and final destination, my grandma's house. The kids received 2 more baskets which gave them a grand total of 5 Easter baskets. Way too many for a household where Daddy would rather we not eat any candy. We had a great day filled with family, food, Easter egg hunts, and celebrating Jesus! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.

Quote from Laney

The first graders at Delaney's school are doing a musical in May. Last night there was a parent meeting to plan all the details, scenery, costumes, cast party etc. When I returned home Delaney said, "What part do I have?"
Me: "I don't know, your teacher decides."
Delaney: "I want to be a flower, a butterfly or the Queen."
Me: "Well, there is only one Queen!"
Delaney: "I know, that's me!"

Easter Egg Hunts Aren't Just For Kids Anymore!

This year I thought it would be fun to gather all the adults in the family for an Adult Easter Egg Hunt. We met at Kara and Steve's for some pizza and to plan our strategy. We thought the egg hunt started at 8, but when we got there we found out that the rules would be announced at 8:15 and the hunt would start at 8:30. This gave us time to scan the area for eggs and make our plans on how we would hold flashlights and get eggs, well at least the people who didn't have miner lights. My mom, Katie and I wore miner lights, so we could have our hands free to pick up eggs. At the count of 3 we took off, we were allowed to collect 8 eggs and we were also looking for a green frog worth $100. When we returned after collecting the eggs we looked for tickets in the eggs and checked to see what prizes we earned. Darnel and Katie were the only ones that came away with anything. Darnel got a $20 gift card and lottery ticket and Katie got a McDonald's value meal. Even without prizes we all had a great time!
